Desktop Animation

A Desktop animation for a PI 266MHz PC ? YES it is quite possible. But animation slows down such a machine and ......... Don't worry, we have xpenguins. xpenguins is highly configurable for running with low resources and it is very eye candy. Default xpenguins can make PI 266MHz CPU very busy. I use 'xpenguins -p -b -t Bill -t Penguins -n 3 --nice 0.10 0.15' for my PC. --nice option is very important to balance with the CPU load, if the load goes high xpenguins kills the toon one by one and if loads reach a certain point xpenguins kills all toons. Set --nice according to your system load to run it without eating CPU. When CPU load comes down then you can again see the toons on your Desktop. This load range is totally user defined. -n is also important as it decides how many toons will be animated on Desktop. For the options please read the man page as discussing all these is beyond the scope of this document.
